M64, also known as the Black Eye Galaxy, is placed in the Coma Berenices constellation, abou 45 MLY from us. It has a spectacular dark band of absorbing dust in front of the galaxy's bright nucleus, giving rise to its nickname Black Eye galaxy (wiki).
Us usually, an arrow to the right from the galaxy shows a rather weak quasar with redshift z=2.49 (the light travel time was 11 billion years.
