Abell 426 is a
huge galaxy cluster which belongs to the
Perseus-Pisces supercluster.
It is situated in the constellation of Perseus near star Algol (beta
Per), far (about
250 million light-years) behind many
faint
foreground stars of our own galaxy.
It's central cD galaxy
NGC 1275
is a strong source of
x-rays
and radio emission. Really nice
view with plenty of galaxies.. It is also interesting
that the largest supermassive black holes are not found in
the two largest galaxies, but in other less conspicuous
ones. E.g. in NGC 1270,
NGC 1281, NGC 1277 and NGC 1271 the supermassive holes
have masses of 12, 10, 5
and 3 billion Suns respectively, much more
than ~ 500 million Solar masses of the black hole in the
central most
prominent NGC 1275
